Last weekend was a busy one...we went to our first birthday party of the year for Palmer pre-school. The theme was Dora the Explorer and kudos to the Dutt's. Having 20 kids plus parents over was no small feat. Charlie is by far the most independent kid. He was charging ahead from place to place as they had different events on Dora's map with prizes at each event. Joe and Grace stuck with us for the most part.
We also went out to Colin and Shelley's for Caroline's 2nd birthday. Grace and Caroline are "girly girls". Who would have thought given their mothers? Grace loves to have her hair done and really would prefer to wear pink. She also refused to wear anything other than a dress to church on Sunday. It was pretty cold, so I think we need to buy them some tights because dresses are here to stay.
Joe's revelation came on Sunday night. Ann started reading the Very Busy Spider...as she would turn each page Joe would say what was on the page first. We noticed with the second animal...the cow. Joe would start, "moo moo says the cow, want to eat grass?"...he had memorized the entire book. We haven't read that book in weeks. Joe may be the "smart" one. Of course he is also the most difficult, sensitive, and opinionated.
